Well it has been snowing in London so it's time to think about all those Christmas movies that we love. Here's my top 5:
1. Home Alone - Featuring all the greatest Christmas songs and a great white Christmas setting, this movie oozes Christmasness, and who didn't shed a tear at the end the first time watching it!
2. Die Hard - A slightly different feel to Home Alone, the movie cleverly blends many Christmas songs and themes in a Christmas party gone horribly wrong!
3. Lethal Weapon - More in the same vein as Die Hard, with an opening song of Jingle Bell Rock, shortly followed by a shoot out in a Christmas tree sale yard, and Mel Gibson's agony as he prepares to go through another Christmas without his dead wife, before discovering the warmth of Danny Glover's family and his wife's cooking.
4. Trading Places - Who can forget Dan Aykroyd eating smoked salmon out of the grimy beard of his filthy Santa costume, priceless! Not to mention a great New Years party on a train.
5. Jingle all the Way - Who told you you could eat my cookies! Arnie's anxious search for a last minute pressie, the highly sought after Turbo Man doll, reminds me of my shopping routine every year!
Merry Christmas everyone!
